Crowley on Christ – Francis King
Originally written in 1916 this work wasn’t published until 1953 as a limited edition of 200 copies as “The Gospel According to St Bernard Shaw”. This edition was published in 1974 and appears to be now out of print and subsequently scarce. The Appendix contains De Arte Magica, a commentary on Liber Agape which had been omitted from the Secret Rituals of the O.T.O. which was published by the same company, C W Daniel Co, in 1973.
Very good condition. The dust jacket, which is now in a removable protective cover, has some shelf wear to the edges, a 1 cm tear to the top of the front, rubbing to the corners, and the rear looks tanned. The scarlet cloth covered boards have signs of shelf wear to the edges, bumping of the corners and spine ends (the front lower corner is badly bumped), and the spine seems lightly faded but the gilt lettering is bright. The text block edges are lightly tanned but the pages are clean and flat.
